SAN JOSE, Calif. - When Cain Velasquez seized the UFC's heavyweight crown more than a year ago, he seized another title from Brock Lesnar that night too: "baddest man on the planet."
Velasquez returns to the octagon for his first title defense this Saturday at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. - the site where he captured the championship - to meet No. 1 contender Junior Dos Santos.
But the hype surrounding his bout with the Brazilian boxing specialist rolls off the former Arizona Sun Devil's back.

As far as UFC fight weeks go, this one is certainly a big one.
And while UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and top challenger
Junior Dos Santos will be the center of attention until they finally
square off on FOX this Saturday night, 18 other fighters will also
compete at UFC on FOX 1.
UFC brass recently revealed the official 10-bout lineup for the Nov. 12
event, which takes place at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

In a colossal clash for the UFC heavyweight championship, Brazilian juggernaut Junior dos Santos challenges undefeated torchbearer Cain Velasquez in the UFC's first event presented live on FOX.
Not only are these men the top dogs in the UFC, they epitomize the evolution of a marquee division in mixed martial arts.
In the sport's infancy years, the heavyweight class was dominated by Oleg Taktarov, Dan Severn, Mark Coleman, Gary Goodridge and David "Tank" Abbott. As the sport grew, the quality of fighters improved. Superior mixed marital artists like Frank Mir, Tim Sylvia and Randy Couture assumed control of the division on North American soil, while some of the greatest heavyweights of all time were born in Pride.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is heading outdoors - well, for weigh-ins at least.
The official weigh-in ceremony for next week's historic UFC on FOX 1
event will take place at California's iconic Santa Monica Pier.
The ceremony, which sees UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and top
contender Junior Dos Santos lead a contingent of 20 fighters to the
scale, begins at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT local time). The festivities are
free and open to the public.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Cinnabar Hills Golf Club is a place a champion such as Cain Velasquez can afford to be off his game - a luxury he won't have come Nov. 12, when the UFC debuts on network TV on FOX.
Before Velasquez meets Junior Dos Santos for the UFC heavyweight crown, he arrives on the links for a recent charity golf tournament in between morning and nighttime training sessions.
Velasquez was one of 15 fighters donating his time and auction items to benefit Turning Wheels for Kids, a local nonprofit that raises money to build new bikes for children.

Sunday's well-received "UFC Primetime: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos" pre-event special earned a 1.3 household rating and averaged two million viewers.
MMAjunkie.com today confirmed the Oct. 30 program's ratings information with an industry source.
The one-hour special, which was the first significant UFC programming on the FOX network, scored a 0.98 rating among men 18-49 and a 0.99 among men 18-34.

If you want to see Clay Guida battle Ben Henderson on Nov. 12, you had better be next to a computer.
While many MMA fans have openly hoped for a quick ending in that night's
Cain Velasquez vs. Junior Dos Santos main event in order for Guida vs. Henderson to also air on the UFC
on FOX broadcast, UFC president Dana White today said that's not going
White said the featured bout will be the only fight on
the broadcast, even if it "only goes 10 seconds."
