The bump that Ronda Rousey vs. Sarah Kaufman delivered in TV ratings wasn't exactly reflected in live attendance numbers.
"Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman" drew 3,502 fans for a live gate of $145,510, the California State Athletic Commission reported today in an email to MMAjunkie.com.
The event took place this past Saturday at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. Its main card aired live on Showtime while preliminary-card fights aired on Showtime Extreme.

One of the best fights on this past Saturday's Strikeforce card took place on the prelims.
Fans now will get another chance to watch the Miesha Tate vs. Julie Kedzie fight, as well as three other early bouts from "Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman." Showtime Extreme will replay the four-fight preliminary card from Saturday's event tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.
In addition, Showtime has announced the Tate-Kedzie fight will be available on Showtime On Demand starting Sept. 2.

With the afterglow from this past Saturday's Ronda Rousey vs. Sarah Kaufman card finally subsiding, Strikeforce officials are now focusing on filling out their upcoming Sept. 29 event.
The promotion today added two new bouts - Guto Inocente vs. Gian Villante and Mike Kyle vs. Dion Staring - to the upcoming "Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy" event while also confirming previously reported booking of Caros Fodor vs. Josh Thomson and Quinn Mulhern vs. Jorge Santiago.
"Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy" takes place Sept. 29 at Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento, Calif.

Bobby Green has an urgent request for Strikeforce: give more notice.
Green outpointed Matt Ricehouse this past Saturday at "Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman" to earn his fourth straight victory for the promotion. He had 20 days to prepare for the fight.
But he's had far less. He once fought the tough Dan Lauzon on one day's notice. He fought the world-class Gesias "JZ" Cavalcante on 10 days' notice, and lost.

Ronda Rousey's star continues to rise, and her latest appearance scored Showtime its highest Strikeforce ratings of 2012.
MMAjunkie.com today learned from industry sources
that this past weekend's "Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman" averaged
530,000 viewers on Showtime.
Additionally, a peak viewership of 676,000 tuned in during the night's
main event, which saw Strikeforce women's bantamweight champion Rousey
defeat former title holder Sarah Kaufman in just 54 seconds.
