Newly minted Strikeforce fighter Sara McMann now has an opponent for her promotional debut.
Sources close to the event confirmed to MMAjunkie.com that McMann is set to face Liz Carmouche at "Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir." MMAFighting.com initially reported it.
The event takes place Nov. 3 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. Main-card fights air live on Showtime following prelims on Showtime Extreme.

Rousey vs. "Cyborg." It hasn't quite reached Fedor vs. Couture status yet, but it's still one of the biggest potential fight bookings out there that still may never get seen.
Strikeforce bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and former featherweight champ Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos is the fight most seem to want to see once Santos' current steroids suspension is lifted in December.
There are some well-known obstacles to be certain. But Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said if you're expecting "Cyborg" to be Rousey's next opponent, don't count on it.

Ronda Rousey can add Rolling Stone magazine to her ever-growing mass media resume.
Rousey, the unbeaten Strikeforce women's bantamweight champion, makes an appearance in the magazine's most recent issue in a short piece 33 pages in -next to a fellow Olympian in recent U.S. swimming sensation Ryan Lochte.
And Rolling Stone cut right to the chase with the all-caps headline: "The best female fighter ever."
CSAC: Main-event the sole fight drug tested at 'Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman'

After first announcing the results of drug testing for "Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman" were "invalid," then later clarifying that a clerical error delayed the process, the California State Athletic Commission today announced there were no positive tests from the event.
However, CSAC Interim Executive Officer Kathi Burns clarified that only the headliners, women's bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey and Sarah Kaufman, were tested.
"We randomly select people from each of our events, and we always do the main event title fights," Burns told MMAjunkie.com. "But we just didn't select to do any others at that event."

Strikeforce's November visit to Oklahoma now is official, and tickets for the event go on sale next week.
As first reported by USA TODAY SPORTS and MMAjunkie.com, heavyweight Daniel Cormier meets UFC crossover Frank Mir in the main event. And middleweight champ Luke Rockhold defends his belt against Lorenz Larkin in the co-main event.
"Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir" takes place Nov. 3 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. The main card airs on Showtime (10 p.m. ET/PT) following prelims on Showtime Extreme (8 p.m.).
Former UFC, Strikeforce fighter Jason 'Mayhem' Miller charged with misdemeanor vandalism

The Orange County (Calif.) District Attorney today charged Jason "Mayhem" Miller with a misdemeanor count of vandalism for allegedly breaking into a church.
Miller faces probation or up to one year in jail, OC district attorney spokesperson Farrah Emami today told MMAjunkie.com.
Miller's arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 21 in Orange County Superior Court, were he will either enter a plea of guilty or not guilty.
Ex-Strikeforce champ Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza ready to fight, but needs notice

Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza sure looked ready to try and win back his Strikeforce title. A 41-second knockout of Derek Brunson this past month put the ex-champ at the top of the middleweight contender list for most MMA observers.
Souza is ready to fight, his manager Gilberto Faria today told MMAjunkie.com. But the call from Strikeforce has yet to come.
"So far, we haven't been contacted regarding 'Jacare' being on the (Nov. 3) card, but it would seem like not," Faria said.

Luke Rockhold has his next title fight lined up - but it might not be the one most were expecting.
Rockhold will put his Strikeforce middleweight title on the line against Lorenz Larkin on Nov. 3 in Oklahoma City. Sources close to the promotion, as well as Rockhold's camp, confirmed the news to MMAjunkie.com after an initial report from MMAWeekly.com.

Undefeated bantamweight female prospect Sara McMann is the latest addition to the Strikeforce roster.
MMAjunkie.com today learned from multiple sources
close to the former Olympic wrestling silver medalist that McMann has
signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion.
McMann could debut as soon as the promotion's recently-announced Nov. 3 event, but an opponent has yet to be determined.
