A heavyweight bout between former champ Frank Mir and "The Ultimate Fighter 10" runner-up Brendan Schaub is expected to take place in early 2011.
Sources close to the event told MMAjunkie.com verbal agreements are in place for the fight.
The bout could take place at UFC on Versus 3 on March 3 or UFC 129 on March 19, though neither show has been officially announced.

OBERHAUSEN, Germany - Brock Lesnar may revisit an old
rivalry and take on a third fight with Frank Mir,
according to UFC president Dana White.
During a special Q&A session today with UFC Fight Club fans in
Germany, the executive addressed a rumor of the potential rubber match
that arose immediately following Lesnar's loss to Cain Velasquez this
past month at UFC 121.

Brendan Schaub doesn't want to ruffle any feathers. He's just trying to avoid the ridicule of his future children.
Following a unanimous-decision win over one-time heavyweight title challenger Gabriel Gonzaga at this past Saturday's UFC 121 event, Schaub said he'd love the opportunity to face former champion Frank Mir.
But while many fans might interpret that request as too cocky, Schaub said he means no disrespect in his wish to fast-track his career.

ANAHEIM, Calif - A few hours after his UFC 121 victory over Gabriel Gonzaga, Brendan Schaub entered Saturday's post-fight press conference and carefully lowered himself into a chair.
A heavily bruised and bloodied face underscored just how tough of a fight it was, but Schaub was feeling none of that.
Instead, he was enjoying something his previous two wins didn't provide: satisfaction.
