Frank Mir (16-6 MMA, 14-6 UFC) will not fight Daniel Cormier (10-0 MMA, 7-0 SF), as it turns out.
An undisclosed injury has forced the ex-UFC champ to withdraw from "Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir," which takes place Nov. 3 at Chesapeake Energy Center in Oklahoma City, Okla., and airs live on Showtime and Showtime Extreme.
MMAjunkie.com (mmajunkie.com) confirmed the news on Tuesday night with a source close to the promotion following an initial report from news show Sports Rage.

USA TODAY Sports has learned from sources close to the event that
Cormier and Mir's three-round crossover bout will headline a Nov. 3
Strikeforce card at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
The evening's main card airs on Showtime (10 p.m. ET/PT) following prelims on Showtime Extreme (8 p.m.).

has agreed to meet Strikeforce grand prix winner and former two-time
Olympic wrestler Daniel Cormier at a yet-to-be-announced Strikeforce event expected to take place in late October.
"Cormier is one of the best heavyweights in
the world," UFC president Dana
White said."He just won the grand prix and beat Josh Barnett. He needs to
fight opponents of that caliber, and Frank Mir is that guy."
NSAC: UFC 146's Frank Mir the fourth fighter to gain TRT exemption

The Nevada State Athletic Commission approved Frank Mir for testosterone-replacement therapy in advance of his title fight with heavyweight champ Junior Dos Santos at UFC 146.
Mir is the fourth athletic to get a therapeutic-use exemption, NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer today told MMAjunkie.com.
Middleweight title contender Chael Sonnen, who is currently taking steps needed to gain approval, is expected to be No. 5 in advance of his title fight with champ Anderson Silva at UFC 148.
