Despite walking away from the Ultimate Fighting Championship after an October loss to Roy Nelson, Filipovic told MMAjunkie.com and USA TODAY Sports that he is training in the sport and envisions a return to MMA.
"Concerning my retirement from the UFC, I said it was my last fight for the UFC and last fight on the present contract, but I did not say, 'I won't keep fighting,'" Filipovic said.

will face Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic in a striking-rules contest.
The bout, which had been rumored for several weeks, is now official according to Sefo, who announced the fight via Twitter.
"Some news for you all," Sefo wrote. "My fight with Mirko 'Cro Cop' has been confirmed for March 10."

The heavyweight fighter's UFC career long has been identified by unrivaled stoicism, but lately, the dangerous Croatian striker has loosened up.
Even with a two-fight losing streak staring him in the face, Filipovic told MMAjunkie.com he's got every reason be proud of his once-illustrious career. But admittedly, another loss would be a personal disaster, he said.

And following Filipovic's loss to Brendan Schaub at Saturday's UFC 128 event, UFC president Dana White told MMAjunkie.com he doesn't expect much push back from the fighter.
