Fight Network reports on the UFC's announcement during a conference call this afternoon that Brock Lesnar has been re-diagnosed with diverticulitis, which has forced him off UFC 131 on June 12 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Shane Carwin has instead been promoted to the main event as he will challenge Junior dos Santos to determine the No. 1 contender for Cain Velasquez's UFC heavyweight title.

Mayo Clinic confirmed a second battle with diverticulitis, Lesnar on
Thursday officially withdrew from a planned UFC 131 matchup with Junior
But while his first case of the intestinal infection was considered
life-threatening, Lesnar insists things are much better this time
around. He's in no shape to fight, Lesnar admits, but he's also not
preparing to walk away from the sport.

Another UFC main event bites the dust.
president Dana White announced today that former heavyweight champion
Brock Lesnar has been forced to withdraw from UFC 131's main event due
to a second case of diverticulitis.
Shane Carwin has been tapped as Lesnar's replacement and will meet Junior Dos Santos.

Brazilian knockout artist Junior Dos Santos spent nearly two months coaching some of the sport's most promising MMA fighters during his tenure as a head coach on this season of "The Ultimate Fighter."
Initially, Dos Santos wasn't slated for a head-coaching slot on "TUF 13," but heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez's should surgery placed their bout on hold.
However, with a desire to remain active, Dos Santos made it known to UFC officials he didn't want to sit idle.
