Michael Bisping has been a longtime UFC middleweight contender, but one criticism that followed him was that he never defeated a top-10 opponent.

TORONTO - Michael Bisping may never be the most popular fighter in the
world's biggest MMA promotion, but his track record may very well
finally earn him a shot at the UFC's middleweight title.
Bisping used crisp boxing and an impressive array of takedowns to outpoint an always-gritty Brian Stann in a three-round affair.
The middleweight bout was part of the main card of Saturday's UFC 152
event at Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The fight aired on pay-per-view
following prelims on FX and Facebook.
Manager: Michael Bisping title shot is good business for UFC, Anderson Silva

If, for the remainder of his career, champ Anderson Silva wants to fight the big fights, meaning he wants big challenges (and lucrative paydays), he should fight Michael Bisping.
Additionally, if the UFC wants big events (and lucrative pay-per-view numbers), they should book the fight if Bisping beats fellow middleweight standout Brian Stann on Saturday at UFC 152.
Manager Audie Attar, who reps Bisping for Paradigm Sports Management, thinks this is the logical thing to do.
UFC 152's Michael Bisping, Joseph Benavidez all smiles after faux-spat

TORONTO -Joseph Benavidez certainly was in strangling distance seated beside Michael Bisping during UFC 152's pre-event press conference.
But despite a tirade and promise from Bisping to issue payback to Benavidez for saying he was a harder puncher, the two jovially squashed their beef.
"The strangling has already taken place," Bisping said. "We have photographic evidence on Joseph's phone. I strangled him. We've settled our differences."
UFC 152's Bisping: Champ Silva won't be fighting at middleweight 'anytime soon'
September 19, 2012 (22:00) [ Indexed from MMAjunkie
TORONTO -Michael Bisping has every intention of defeating Brian Stann at Saturday's UFC 152 event.
After laboring for years in hopes of an elusive title shot, he thinks a win this weekend would solidify his case for a chance at the belt.
He just doesn't expect current champion Anderson Silva to be there to meet him anytime in the foreseeable future.
Not in joking mood, Bisping fires back at fellow UFC 152 fighter Benavidez

Things could get a little chilly in the locker rooms at UFC 152 - at least if Michael Bisping and Joseph Benavidez are sharing space.
Putting it mildly, Bisping didn't appreciate the UFC flyweight's off-the-cuff remark that he was a harder puncher.
"That smug-faced little t--- in a prepubescent boy's body needs to shut the f--- up because I'll take the Pepsi Challenge with that short-ass any day of the week," Bisping told MMAjunkie.com Radio.
Bisping: Weidman undeserving of No. 1 status after beating 'an out-of-shape fat man'
September 14, 2012 (22:15) [ Indexed from MMAjunkie
LAS VEGAS - UFC middleweight contender isn't looking past his UFC 152 opponent, Brian Stann.
But with what appears to be a bit of a four-man tournament lining up in
the UFC's middleweight division - and with UFC President Dana White on
Thursday declaring Chris Weidman (9-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) the division's No. 1
contender - the question seems unavoidable.
For the record, no, Bisping does not believe Weidman deserves that type
of recognition. And while he's not so sure Weidman will make it past Tim
Boetsch in their December fight, Bisping likes his chances against the

The thing about Michael Bisping ...
September 12, 2012 (18:30) [ Indexed from MMAjunkie
Near the end of a phone interview, I got to talking with Michael Bisping about why, despite a very respectable record in the UFC, some people insist on adopting the position that he is a mediocre middleweight who could never be a UFC champion.
Why do they say he doesn't have what it takes to be a top contender? Why do they denigrate his grappling ability and punching power, no matter what his past opponents say?
After all, it was Chael Sonnen who told me that after he signed on to fight Bisping he got a phone call from Dan Henderson, warning him not to believe everything he'd heard about the Brit.

Weidman today told MMAjunkie.com that bone fragments in his elbow have put recovery on the top of his list.
