Frank Mir focused on family legacy with daughter Bella on verge of MMA breakout

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Frank Mir still plans on competing, but his main focus is his daughter, Bella Mir.

A national champion wrestler, 18-year-old Bella is 2-0 as a professional, and now that she’s eligible to compete in the United States, she’s looking to take her career to the next level.

While Frank Mir isn’t ready to call it a career yet, he wants to make sure Bella reaches her full potential.

“My daughter now is a professional fighter,” Mir told MMA Junkie. “(I’m) coaching her and being a part of her career, helping her develop and move along, benefit from all the strengths her mother and I have given her.”

Mir and his daughter were in attendance for the 2021 PFL Playoffs 2 on Thursday and the former UFC heavyweight champion says there’s a possibility his daughter ends up signing with the promotion.

“There’s definitely a strong chance,” Mir said. “She wants to compete with some of the best in the world, and that’s why we came here – to see the fighters, and obviously there’s some phenomenal talent here.

“I’m not going to say anything people would not expect from me as a father, but in about three years, everybody is going to know who she is.”

Mir, who dropped a unanimous decision to Steve Cunningham in his pro boxing debut in April, is open to many different avenues for his own next step. He currently is under contract with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, but is grateful to have the liberty to compete in different promotions until his promotional debut is set, as he juggles commentary gigs and coaching job at Syndicate MMA.
