The charges against Conor McGregor have been officially dropped in the cell-phone smashing incident that occurred outside a Miami nightclub on March 11.

According to a report from the Miami Herald, the victim, Ahmed Abdirzak, stopped cooperating with investigators after reportedly reaching a settlement with McGregor last month.

“The victim of the crime does not wish to return to the United States and prosecute this case,” prosecutor Khalil Madani announced during a brief hearing on Monday.

McGregor was not present at the hearing.

“I think this was the appropriate resolution of this case,” said McGregor's lawyer, Sam Rabin.

McGregor was initially arrested and charged with felony strong-armed robbery and criminal mischief for stealing and destroying Abdirzak’s phone after the fan allegedly attempted to take a picture of the fighter outside the LIV Nightclub at the Fontainebleau Hotel. The degree of one felony charge was eventually lowered and the other was converted to a misdemeanor. McGregor was initially released on $12,500 bond and is scheduled to return to court for an arraignment on April 10.

The incident was captured on video, as McGregor appears to stomp on the device multiple times while Abdirzak pleads “Let me get my phone, man.” Before settling, Abdirzak was suing the former UFC champion for battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The phone itself was valued at $1,000 but Abdirzak was seeking more than $15,000 in damages. The terms of the settlement were unclear.

McGregor, who does not currently have a fight scheduled, is reportedly under investigation for a sexual assault that occurred in Ireland this past December. He has not been charged in the case. The SBG Ireland standout last appeared at UFC 229 on Oct. 6, where he was submitted in the fourth round by Khabib Nurmagomedov in a lightweight championship tilt.
