According to a release, the partnership will provide a new experience for live events beginning with Bellator 221 on May 11. This will include “newly designed live event presentation, including video content, promotional packages and additional production elements.”
The new look will primarily cater to fans at the venue, although some elements could be noticeable to those watching the broadcast at home.
“I’m thrilled to partner with Van Wagner on the new in-arena experience for our fans,” Bellator President Scott Coker said. “Event presentation has always been such an important aspect of combat sports history. Going back to my days in K-1 in Japan, there was an emphasis on how the athletes were presented and I look forward to helping make that process even more exciting now. With their experience in live events, Van Wagner is the perfect partner to help us find new and innovate ways to continue to entertain our fans.”
Bellator 221 takes place at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill., and is headlined by a lightweight championship clash between reigning champion Michael Chandler and 145-pound king Patricio Freire.
