The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the pairing on Tuesday. UFC Fight Night 140 takes place at Parque Roca Arena in Buenos Aires on Nov. 17 and is headlined by a welterweight tilt between Santiago Ponzinibbio and Neil Magny. The card is expected to air on Fox Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

Elkins, 34, had a six-bout Octagon winning streak snapped in a unanimous decision loss to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC Fight Night 133 on July 14. “The Damage” authored several come-from-behind wins during his tear, scoring triumphs over the likes of Michael Johnson, Dennis Bermudez and Mirsad Bektic, to name a few. Elkins is 14-5 over the course of a promotional tenure that began in 2010.

A former 145-pound title challenger, Lamas will attempt to halt a two-fight skid in his matchup with Elkins. The 36-year-old Chicago native suffered a first-round knockout loss to Josh Emmett at UFC on Fox 26 before dropping a split verdict against Bektic in his most recent outing at UFC 225 on June 9. “The Bully” is 9-5 in the UFC overall with victories over the likes of Charles Oliveira, Diego Sanchez, Cub Swanson, Bermudez and Hacran Dias.
