Merab Dvalishvili vs. Terrion Ware

Round 1

The bantamweights exchange tentative strikes for about half a minute before Dvalishvili brings Ware to the floor with an ankle pick. He tries to set up in guard and go to work, but Ware squirms and scrambles. Dvalishvili works an overhook and some ground-and-pound to the body, then postures up and starts smashing Ware’s head with short elbows. Ware stays busy on the bottom, squirming and looking for underhooks, but Dvalishvili gets him against the fence with two minutes to go. Ware uses the fence to stand back up. Before he can get anything done, however, Dvalishvili grabs and ankle once again and reaps the other foot from range. Ware loses balance and Dvalishvili sets up shop from top position against the fence. Ware turns to the side and escapes to his feet against the fence with 30 seconds left. Ware escapes and the round ends with Dvalishvili teeing off with kicks and punches. 10-9 Dvalishvili.

Round 2

The second round starts with Ware looking to strike from range, clearly wary of the takedown. Dvalishvili throws a slapping head kick that grazes Ware’s guard. Ware is walking Dvalishvili down but throwing nothing resembling his usual high volume. Two minutes in, Dvalishvili shoots a double-leg, lifts and deposits the Californian on his rear end against the fence. Dvalishvili controls Ware with an arm around the waist, throwing knees and punches as Ware stands back up against the fence. With 90 seconds left, Dvalishvili has a rear waistlock, lifts and dumps Ware as Ware turns in to him. They land with the Georgian in full guard in the center of the cage, where he resumes attacking with short punches and elbows. With 30 seconds left, Dvalishvili is in total control, not doing much damage, but Ware is offering nothing from the bottom, and that is how the round ends. Another workmanlike but dominant frame for Dvalishvili. 10-9 Dvalishvili.

Round 3

Between rounds, Ware’s corner implores him not to let his foe “lay n’ pray.” 30 seconds in, Dvalishvili clips Ware with a left hook and a few seconds later, shoots another double, which he finishes much more emphatically than he did in the last round. Yet again, the two find themselves near the base of the fence with the Georgian working from half guard. Ware does a good job avoiding most of the ground-and-pound and putting Dvalishvili back into full guard, but looks helpless to get back to his feet without the aid of the fence. Halfway through the final round, Dvalishvili is still in full guard, chipping away with short strikes. With 90 seconds left, Dvalishvili postures up and looks to land some heaver elbows, but Ware begins pedaling his legs, looking either for escape or an upkick, and Dvalishvili abandons the attempt, settling back into his foe’s guard. The clock runs out, fittingly, with Dvalishvili still in guard and thumping Ware to the head and body. The horn sounds and the Russian crowd cheers their man. 10-9 Dvalishvili (30-27 Dvalishvili).

The Official Result

Merab Dvalishvili def. Terrion Ware via Unanimous Decision (30-25, 30-25, 30-25)

Ramazan Emeev vs. Stefan Sekulic

Round 1

The orthodox Emeev and southpaw Sekulic spend the first minute feeling each other out and firing single strikes. 90 seconds in, the sambo specialist hustles Sekulic to the fence and appears to want the takedown, but Sekulic denies him and they break. Shortly after, however, it’s Sekulic going for the takedown, which Emeev denies, rolling through with a loose kimura. With two minutes left, they kockey for position against the fence with Emeev landing some solid knees to the midsection. With 60 seconds left, Emeev smacks Sekulic with a right head kick, then drags him to the floor. Sekulic gets back to his feet and is rocked badly by a right hook. Emeev follows him down, assays some ground-and-pound, and attempts a brabo choke until the horn. 10-9 Emeev.

Round 2

Round 2 begins with Emeev walking down a suddenly tentative Sekulic. A minute in, Sekulic gets his arms around Emeev’s waist and secures a takedown near the fence. Emeev immediately begins working for a kimura, gives it up, then launches the Serbian off him with two feet in the pit of the stomach. They clinch and Emeev resumes landing knees to the gut and ribs. The remainder of the round plays out with Emeev pushing the action, Sekulic giving ground but throwing single strikes to keep the Dagestani honest. 10-9 Emeev.

Round 3

The third round begins with the two circling and pot-shotting from range, much like the first two. 30 seconds in, Emeev appears to have suffered an eye poke, but the replay is inconclusive. When they resume, Sekulic, perhaps feeling some urgency, walks forward on Emeev, throwing kicks. Sekulic tries a takedown after 90 seconds, but Emeev ends up on top after some scrambling. Sekulic works his way back to his feet against the fence. Emeev presses him into the cage, throwing more knees to the body. At the halfway point, Emeev breaks to adjust his cup, and they resume throwing in the center of the cage. With two minutes to go in the fight, the action on the feet is still characterized by sporadic exchanges of long-range strikes, with Emeev giving better than he receives. With a minute to go, Sekulic clinches and pushes Emeev against the fence, looking for a takedown, and Emeev immediately defends with a figure-four. They break and reset in the middle of the cage, just in time for the final horn. 10-9 Emeev (30-27 Emeev).

The Official Result

Ramazan Emeev def. Stefan Sekulic via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-26)

Jordan Johnson vs. Adam Yandiev

Round 1

The battle of dueling 9-0 records begins with both men setting up in orthodox stance. 45 seconds in, Johnson rocks Yandiev with a right hand and hustles him to the floor near the fence. Yandiev gets two warnings for grabbing the fence from referee Marc Goddard within ten seconds but succeeds in standing back up. At the 3:30 mark, they break and resume boxing. Johnson is the aggressor on the feet, advancing and keeping Yandiev on the end of his much longer reach. At the halfway mark, Johnson takes Yandiev down again and starts throwing heavy leather from behind. Johnson lands in full mount with 90 seconds left and rans down punches. Yandiev does a good job surviving, holding on to Johnson with a bear hug. Johnson forces Yandiev to give up his back and locks up a rear-naked choke. It looks tight, but Yandiev fights through it and turns around into Johnson. The round ends with Johnson on top near the fence. 10-8 Johnson.

Round 2

The second round begins with Johnson promptly taking Yandiev down with a body lock. This time he forgoes ground-and-pound, immediately framing an arm-triangle choke, which he finishes without even stepping over. Dominant performance from Johnson, who moves to 4-0 in the UFC in his middleweight debut.

The Official Result

Jordan Johnson def. Adam Yandiev via Submission (Arm-Triangle Choke) R2 0:42

Magomed Ankalaev vs. Marcin Prachnio

Round 1

It’s a battle of two light heavyweights who lost their UFC debuts as the Russian Ankalaev takes on the Pole Prachnio. The two fighters tap gloves. It’s southpaw vs. orthodox to start the fight. The fight starts off with both men circling and feeling each other out. Prachnio lands a big leg kick. The two men continue to circle. Ankalaev lands a punch and a knee. Ankalaev throws a couple more big punches that connect. Ankalaev lands a big body kick and Prachnio throws a high kick that is blocked. Ankalaev is doing a great job of controlling the center of the Octagon. Ankalaev lands another punch. Both men throw caution to the win and exchange. The two men circle some more. Ankalaev lands a counter punch that rocks Prachnio and follows it up with a massive head kick that knocks him out. Prachnio tried to block the kick but it rocked him bad. Wonderful finish by the Russian to get his first win in the UFC.

The Official Result

Magomed Ankalaev def. Marcin Prachnio via TKO (Head Kick and Punches) R1, 3:09

Desmond Green vs. Mairbek Taisumov

Round 1

The orthodox Taisumov and southpaw Green immediately start exchanging, with Taisumov establishing himself with hard body kicks alternating with keg kicks. Green is circling, darting in with single strikes to the body and head. Halfway through the round, neither has tried to bring the fight to the floor, and both are still throwing from distance with ill intent. Green catches an inadvertent eye poke but recovers in seconds. With 90 seconds left, Taisumov is still landing body kicks at will, changing up with the occasional head kick, and they are the most effective strikes from either man. At the ten-second clapper, Taisumov lands a solid right straight, Green tries to change levels, Taisumov denies the takedown and circles out. The round ends with both men swinging. 10-9 Taisumov.

Round 2

The second frame begins as the previous one ended, with Taisumov the pursuer throwing a variety of kicks and Green using a right jab to the body and head to keep the distance. One of Green’s punches has opened a small cut on Taisumov’s face. At the halfway point, Taisumov seems gradually to be pulling away, as Green’s offense grows more sporadic and Taisumov is landing more and more punches in between his kicks. A kick catches Green on the cup with an audible knock and he takes a moment to recover. The action resumes and Taisumov rocks Green with a right head kick and a punch. He follows the Floridian down and looks for a front headlock, but Green uses a single-leg to stand back up. The exchange seems to wake Green up, and he backs up Taisumov with aggressive flurries of punches until the horn. 10-9 Taisumov.

Round 3

The lightweights exchange on the feet toopen the third round, with Green less willing to give up ground in the early going. By the second minute, however, Taisumov is once again the aggressor, tagging Green with head kicks and lunging straight punches. With two minutes to go, Green is throwing more volume than Taisumov, but continuing to circle and back away. Taisumov tags Green with another slapping head kick with 90 seconds to go. With 30 second left in the fight, Green shows little urgency, but remains the more active fighter until the horn. 10-9 Green (29-28 Taisumov).

The Official Result

Mairbek Taisumov def. Desmond Green via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Kajan Johnson vs. Rustam Khabilov

Round 1

Johnson misses with a jab but follows up with a straight right hand over the top that catches the Russian. Khabilov is pressing forward, working from the center of the cage, but he’s not having much success closing the distance on the longer man here in the first half of round one. Through the middle of the frame, “Tiger” starts to find a home for his counter punches, but Johnson is still zapping him with his rangy one-twos. Khabilov shoots from way out but can’t get hold of Johnson’s legs. Johnson slaps the face of Khabilov with a left high kick just before the horn. 10-9 Johnson.

Round 2

It’s more of the same at the start of round two, with Khabilov attempting to close the distance and Johnson fending him off with long strikes. Khabilov lands a left hand and shoots again, but Johnson defends the single-leg shot by hopping backward to the wall and then separating. Khabilov times another shot, this time diving under a Johnson left to snatch a single-leg. Johnson hits the ground this time and immediately rolls underneath, hunting for a heel hook. Khabilov pulls the leg free and sets up in Johnson’s guard, dodging a triangle along the way. Khabilov keeps a grinding pace on the mat, being sure to keep Johnson pinned and snuffing out another triangle attempt in between working his ground-and-pound, which keeps the American grounded until the end of the frame. 10-9 Khabilov.

Round 3

Both lightweights land hard punches in the opening moments, but the pace is otherwise slow in the first minute of the final frame. It’s still Khabilov coming forward, trying to get hands on Johnson, but unable to come inside on the taller lightweight. Johnson catches a shooting Khabilov with a knee to the jaw, then does it again seconds later. Khabilov completes his second takedown attempt, but this time, Johnson is able to hip-bump and stand almost instantly. Khabilov keeps walking forward, eats another stiff jab from Johnson and shoots. Johnson hits the canvas this time, but he immediately wraps up Khabilov in his closed guard. Khabilov jams him up against the fence, where both men land short punches. Johnson is still hunting for a triangle as he works off his back, and he finishes the round attempting a heel hook. 10-9 Johnson (29-28 Johnson).

The Official Result

Rustam Khabilov def. Kajan Johnson via Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) R3 5:00

Petr Yan vs. Jin Soo Son

Round 1

Yan strikes first with a thudding left kick to the midsection of Son, who backs up and tries to parry the Russian’s jabs. Yan comes over the top with an ill-intentioned overhand right, then pushes away Son as the Korean fighter attempts to grab a double-leg. Son starts landing his jab about 90 seconds in, but Yan slows down his progress with another big right hand. Son tries to step inside and catches a finger to his left eye from Yan’s outstretched hand. Referee Marc Goddard calls for the cageside physician, who quickly clears Son to continue. Son catches Yan in a rear waistlock, trips him to the ground but can’t keep him on the mat. Yan whiffs on a spinning backfist, drawing a smile and a shake of the head from the Korean Zombie MMA fighter. Son traps Yan against the fence with an underhook as they enter the final minute of round one. Yan breaks out and catches Son with a collar-tie uppercut, but it’s Son who finishes strong with a right hand over the top. 10-9 Son.

Round 2

Yan comes out stronger in round two, stringing together some heavy combinations that put the Korean fighter in reverse early. Yan’s one-two crashes into Son’s face again, but Son only smiles and resumes his forward motion as soon as possible. Son eats a nasty uppercut, then a straight left, but he wags a finger at Yan to say it didn’t hurt. Yan is landing the cleaner, harder punches in this round, but Son isn’t going away, standing right in the pocket to swing back at the Russian. No matter how blistering the combination that Yan lands, Son just stands in front of him with a smile on his face. Son scores a takedown, but Yan uses butterfly guard to do some good work from his back, popping Son with a few elbows. Son nearly mounts, gets pushed back to butterfly guard, so he stands over Yan to drop punches. Yan rolls onto his knees and defends a back-take from Son in the last 20 seconds. Yan reverses to top position, and the bantamweights climb back to their feet before the horn. 10-9 Yan.

Round 3

Yan zaps Son with a vicious left hand, but when he tries to follow up, Son slips the combination to plunk the Russian with a left of his own. Yan steps inside and absolutely slams Son with a standing elbow strike. Yan clinches and tosses Son to the mat, but Son stands up just in time to eat another left. Breaking out of a clinch, Yan blasts Son with a spinning elbow; the strike lands clean, but Son just stands in front of Yan, smiling and calling for more. Son is finally bleeding from the nose, but otherwise shows no intention of going down. Son absorbs a head kick and swings back to crack Yan with a right. The boxing is getting a little sloppier here in the last two minutes, but Yan’s left hand continues to find a home. A body kick catches Son off balance, knocking him to the floor, but the “Zombie” protégée springs back to his feet. The bantamweights are still swinging when the final horn sounds. 10-9 Yan (29-28 Yan).

The Official Result

Petr Yan def. Jin Soo Son via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) R3 5:00

C.B. Dollaway vs. Khalid Murtazaliev

Round 1

Dollaway takes the center of the cage and presses out as Murtazaliev circles clockwise around the outside. The American fires a right high kick but can’t find the mark, but he lands a hard body punch a few moments later. Just 80 seconds in, Dollaway gets hold of Murtazaliev and hurls him to the ground. Murtazaliev tries to sweep, can’t get top position but does succeed in getting back to his feet. Murtazaliev hurts Dollaway with a thudding liver kick, then takes down Dollaway at the fence. Dollaway tries a guillotine as he’s taken down, but Murtazaliev doesn’t seem to be in danger with the choke. Nonetheless, “The Doberman” keeps squeezing and trying to adjust until Murtazaliev finally frees his head with two minutes on the clock. Dollaway climbs back to his feet, only to be ridden back to the mat and socked with a few left hands from the Dagestan native. Dollaway stands again, this time trapped against the wall, where Murtazaliev hits him with knees to the body. Murtazaliev hits another trip takedown with 40 seconds left. The Russian lands a few elbows, stands to drop punches, and passes to half guard just before the horn. 10-9 Murtazaliev.

Round 2

Dollaway hits a takedown but can’t keep Murtazaliev on the floor. The next takedown sticks, and Dollaway sets up in Murtazaliev’s half-butterfly guard. Dollaway steps over to full mount, whereupon Murtazaliev immediately rolls over, exposing his back. Dollaway gets both hooks in, but Murtazaliev peels them away and takes top position. Dollaway transitions from a guillotine to a D’arce choke attempt, but Murtazaliev frees his neck and maintains top position. Now it’s Murtazaliev taking a turn in full mount, posturing up to rain punches down on Dollaway with two minutes remaining. Dollaway tries to buck and escape, but he winds up on his knees with Murtazaliev in the wrestling ride, blasting him with big shots to the body and head. Dollaway tries to stand, gets a knee to the head and then gets ragdolled to the floor. Murtazaliev has taken control of this fight, punishing an increasingly tired Dollaway as they fight at the base of the fence. Dollaway rolls onto his knees, covering up, and Murtazaliev sees the opening to blast away with big punches. Referee Herb Dean tells Dollaway to fight back, but Dollaway has nothing left. Dean, in one of the more baffling decisions you will see this year, allows a cowering, fetal Dollaway to survive to the end of the round, even as Murtazaliev mashes away on his head with hammerfists. 10-8 Murtazaliev.

After the horn, Dollaway is unable to get to his feet, and referee Dean finally stop the fight.

The Official Result

Khalid Murtazaliev def. C.B. Dollaway via TKO (Punches) R2 5:00

Thiago Alves vs. Alexey Kunchenko

Round 1

Alves opens with an inside leg kick, then gets a mitt up to block Kunchenko’s first high kick. The welterweights get off to a slow start, with few strikes landed for either man in the opening two minutes. Mostly the fighters test the distance with kicks, but Kunchenko begins firing more punches around the midway point of the round. Good head movement and footwork from Alves keeps him off center and away from Kunchenko’s head shots, but the Russian digs into Alves’ body with a nice punch. Alves retalitates with a one-two, but he’s still stuck in reverse as Kunchenko brings pressure from the center of the cage. 10-9 Kunchenko.

Round 2

Kunchenko comes out with a bit more aggression and gets a left-handed counter from Alves in return. Alves stays working off his back foot as Kunchenko presses forward, both men landing hard low kicks. Kunchenko is looking to back up Alves straight into the fence, but the American Top Team product continually circles away. Alves eats a right hand over the top, then lands a switch kick to the body. A straight right hand pierces Kunchenko’s guard, but the former M-1 champion keeps coming forward. Alves is landing a steady stream of low kicks, and he follows one with a clean, straight right hand. Another low kick nearly chops Kunchenko to the ground. Kunchenko catches Alves with a nice right hand in the last 10 seconds, but Alves snipes back with a right of his own just before the horn. 10-9 Alves.

Round 3

Alves opens with a nice low kick to Kunchenko’s left knee. The Russian tries to come forward and gets backed up by an Alves straight right, followed by another leg kick. Alves is doing well to dodge and deflect the combinations of the Octagon newcomer here in the final frame. Both welterweights are throwing combinations, but neither is landing many clean punches. Kunchenko is doing the better boxing, while Alves continues to chop away at his legs with nasty kicks. An inside leg kick catches Kunchenko on the cup, but he needs only a few seconds to recover from the inadvertant low blow. Kunchenko catches a kick and trips Alves backward, falling to the ground at the base of the fence. Alves springs back to his feet, but the “Pitbull” is trapped against the fence by Kunchenko, then taken back to the floor. Alves jumps up again, only to be underhooked against the cage. Kunchenko releases and lands an uppercut, then keeps Alves on the defensive with more straight punches on the outside. Kunchenko misses with a spinning elbow, and the 170-pounders finish the fight throwing hands. 10-9 Kunchenko (29-28 Kunchenko).

The Official Result

Alexey Kunchenko def. Thiago Alves via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) R3 5:00

Andrei Arlovski vs. Shamil Abdurakhimov

Round 1

Abdurakhimov tries to get inside for an early clinch, but Arlovski shoves him out of the pocket. The Russian catches a low kick and trips Arlovski to the floor, but he doesn’t join the “Pit Bull” on the floor. Abdurakhimov allows Arlovski to stand, only to take him back to the floor seconds later. This time, “Abrek” sets up in Arlovski’s closed guard, dropping short left hands while Arlovski locks down his right arm. After a stretch of inactivity on the floor, referee Leon Roberts orders the fighters back to their feet with just under two minutes on the clock. Abdurakhimov ties up again, gets pushed away and chopped down to one knee with a low kick. Arlovski tries to capitalize but can’t land a follow-up punch as Abdurakhimov climbs back to his feet. The slow pace continues in the last 30 seconds, with neither heavyweight committing to any attacks. Arlovski catches an incoming Abdurakhimov with a short right hand just before the horn. 10-9 Abdurakhimov.

Round 2

Abdurakhimov takes 20 seconds to get inside, clinch and jam Arlovski up against the fence. Arlovski walks him back to the center of the cage, still clinched up, and lands an inadvertant low blow. Abdurakhimov takes only a few seconds to recover, and when action resumes, he’s able to time a low kick and take down Arlovski once again. Same as round one, the big men keep a glacial pace once the fight hits the floor, with Abdurakhimov unable to offer much in the way of offense as Arlovski tries to keep him wrapped up from the bottom. Arlovski stands up, eating several left hands from Abdurakhimov along the way, and now the veteran is leaking blood from somewhere around his eyes. Arlovski hits a surprise trip takedown, but Abdurakhimov is back on his feet within seconds. More circling and clinching marks the final 90 seconds of the round, neither man in a rush to do much of anything. Arlovski hits another trip with 15 seconds left, this time keeping Abdurakhimov on the mat until the horn. 10-9 Abdurakhimov.

Round 3

The final round begins with more clinching, then back to circling, throwing sloppy punches before clinching again. Arlovski sticks Abdurakhimov with a nice jab, but that’s all the Belarusian offers before backing off again. Halfway through the round, neither fighter has done anything to take charge. Arlovski gets a poke to the right eye after Abdurakhimov open-palm pushes away on his face. The fight resumes with 2:20 on the clock... and the heavyweights clinch once again. They disengage, Abdurakhimov tries a spinning backfist and misses by a mile. They clinch again, Abdurakhimov throws a knee inside and it catches Arlovski on the cup. Arlovski takes only 30 seconds to recover, and the fight is back on with 60 seconds remaining. Arlovski is sliding backward, seemingly waiting to counter something. He looks at the referee, complaining perhaps of another eye poke, but ref Leon Roberts tells him to fight on. 10-10 (30-28 Abdurakhimov).

The Official Result

Shamil Abdurakhimov def. Andrei Arlovski via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) R3 5:00

Nikita Krylov vs. Jan Blachowicz

Round 1

Krylov backs up Blachowicz with a few kicks, then fires a right hand down then center when he catches the Polish fighter near the fence. Surprisingly, it’s Krylov who scores the bout’s first takedown, running Blachowicz to the mat near the center of the cage less than one minute into the round. Blachowicz threatens with an armbar, then abandons it and socks Krylov with a backfist from the bottom. Krylov buries his head in Blachowicz’s chest and thuds his body with right hands, while Blachowicz still seems to be contemplating an armbar or triangle, occasionally opening up his guard. Blachowicz sits up and drives forward, instantly flipping the script by putting Krylov on his back. “The Miner” tries to snare Blachowicz’s neck in a guillotine, but Blachowicz passes to side control, then north-south position, easily getting himself out of trouble. Blachowicz is transitioning all over Krylov here, moving from one side to the other, at one point hunting for a kimura or straight armbar, then back to landing ground-and-pound. Krylov regains half guard with 70 seconds on the clock. Blachowicz stays heavy on top in the final minute, keeping Krylov pinned and offering the odd punch to the face. 10-9 Blachowicz.

Round 2

Blachowicz catches a body kick, turns it into a standing rear waistlock and then uses that to drag Krylov back to the floor, just 40 seconds into the middle frame. Blachowicz quickly passes to side control, leaning left to right across the body of Krylov, who’s trying anything to lock down Blachowicz and maybe force a stand-up command from the ref. Blachowicz is staying just busy enough, moving to north-south position to drop left hands on Krylov’s face. Krylov is just getting bullied here, and now he rolls to his knees, giving up his back. Blachowicz goes for a rear-naked choke but doesn’t get the back-mount; instead, he squeezes tight on a funky, sideways arm-triangle choke. Krylov is in trouble but seems to have enough room to breathe; that changes a few seconds later, and the Ukrainian gives a slow-motion tap.

The Official Result

Jan Blachowicz def. Nikita Krylov via Submission (Arm-Triangle Choke) R2 2:41

Mark Hunt vs. Alexey Oleynik

Round 1

American referee Herb Dean is the third man in the cage for tonight’s heavyweight main event. Oleynik tries to close the distance early and gets backed off with a hard leg kick. The Russian swings a few punches in Hunt’s direction but can’t find the mark. A short left hand connects for Oleynik, who can’t keep hold of Hunt after an early attempt to clinch. Hunt lands another heavy leg kick as Oleynik continues to press forward, feinting a level change. Hunt lands his first punch of the fight, a big overhand right that Oleynik somehow absorbs. The next leg kick from Hunt leaves Oleynik limping a bit, now grabbing for Hunt’s legs but unable to get hold. After just three or four kicks from Hunt, Oleynik is sporting some nasty redness and swelling around his left knee. Oleynik reaches for a single-leg from way out, but Hunt gives him nothing. An awkward left hook wobbles Hunt, and Oleynik takes the opportunity to wrap up Hunt from behind and drag him to the floor. Oleynik attaches himself to Hunt’s back and immediately begins searching for a rear-naked choke. Hunt defends well, never allowing Oleynik to get under his chin. Oleynik keeps hunting, eventually latches on to a short choke -- bearing down with his forearm across the neck -- and this finally forces Hunt to submit.

The Official Result

Alexey Oleynik def. Mark Hunt via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) R1 4:26
