Paul Felder, James Vick Agree to Fight in December, Possibly at UFC Milwaukee

An exciting lightweight bout appears to be in the works, as Paul Felder and James Vick have agreed on Twitter to fight each other at the end of the year.

Felder reached out last week to see if any top-15 ranked fighters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight or welterweight division would be interested in taking a fight in either December or January.

Vick responded to Felder, accepting the offer and admitting he probably owed Felder the fight, considering he pulled out of their originally scheduled bout to take on Justin Gaethje.

Felder then accepted Vick’s offer to fight him in December, tagging UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby into the conversation and suggesting that UFC Milwaukee would be his preference.

It seems the pair have done the job of matchmakers, so all that is needed is for the fight to be officially booked.

If the fight does go ahead, it will remain to be seen which weight class they decide upon, as Felder has stated in the past he’d much prefer the heavier 170 pound welterweight division so he doesn’t have to worry too much about the weight cut. “The Irish Dragon” fought at welterweight in his last fight against Mike Perry in July at UFC 226. Felder injured his forearm early on in that fight attempting a spinning back fist. Despite the injury, he valiantly fought through the pain eventually losing by split decision.

Vick, like Felder, may agree to fight at welterweight after losing to Gaethje last month by knockout. At 6’3”, “The Texecutioner” is a big 155-pounder and it will be interesting to see if he uses this opportunity to bulk up.
