UFC 230 takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York on Nov. 3. A headliner for the event has not been announced.

Rockhold and Weidman initially squared off at UFC 194, where Rockhold claimed 185-pound gold with a fourth-round technical knockout win. They were scheduled for a rematch at UFC 199 in June 2016 before Weidman withdrew due to injury. Instead, Rockhold lost his belt to Michael Bisping via first-round knockout in one of that year’s biggest upsets.

Rockhold returned to the win column with a second-round TKO of David Branch at UFC Fight Night 116. Most recently, however, the American Kickboxing Academy product was knocked out in the third round by Yoel Romero in the UFC 221 headliner on Feb. 10.

Weidman has been shelved since July 2017 due to a thumb injury. The Serra-Longo Fight Team product halted a three-bout skid with a submission of Kelvin Gastelum in the UFC on Fox 25 main event in his last Octagon appearance.
