There has been enough talk about a potential mixed martial arts bout between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather that odds have been released regarding an Octagon meeting between the two rivals.

According to oddsmaker Bovada, McGregor has opened as a -900 favorite in an MMA bout against the undefeated boxer. Mayweather, meanwhile, is listed as a +550 underdog. McGregor and Mayweather would have to fight at some point in 2018 for the odds to be valid, and their meeting would have to be a sanctioned MMA bout.

McGregor and Mayweather have gone back and forth on social media since their August boxing match, which “Money” won via 10th round technical knockout. Recently, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley spoke of training Mayweather for MMA.

“I saw him at the [Michael] Jordan party during [NBA] All-Star weekend, we started chatting about training MMA and we decided hey, let’s connect, let’s hook up in Vegas and do some training and get ready for MMA,” Woodley said.

Mayweather also recently confirmed to TMZ Sports that he plans on applying for an MMA license.

"Everything takes time. Eventually, we're gonna apply for the license, and hopefully we can fight," Mayweather said.

"Even if it takes 6 to 8 months -- whatever it takes. We want to make sure that everything is done correctly.”
