A horrific car accident couldn’t beat Angela Lee. Now, One Championship’s 115-pound women’s champion is back to build on her undefeated record in a more conventional way.

Thursday, One announced that Lee will defend her title in a rematch of the woman she won it against, Japanese veteran Mei Yamaguchi, at One Championship’s “Unstoppable Dreams.” The pair of strawweights -- atomweights under One’s weight class structure -- were scheduled to rematch on Nov. 24 of last year before a horrific car wreck took Lee out of the bout, and nearly her mortal coil, just over two weeks before the fight.

“Unstoppable Dreams” is scheduled for May 18 at the Singapore Indoor Arena in Kallang, Singapore.

On Nov. 7 of last year, Lee fell asleep at the wheel of her car while heading to a morning training session in Oahu, Hi., and she drove off the road, flipping her vehicle several times and suffering a concussion. Lee, 21, has said she was “grateful” she didn’t hurt any other drivers in the process and that it was “a miracle” she was alive.

After racking up three wins, all by stoppage in her brief amateur career in Hawaii in 2014, Lee hit the big time in made her pro debut for One Championship in May 2015. Since then, she has gone 8-0 professionally, with seven wins coming by way of submission. Most recently, the “Unstoppable” one choked out previously unbeaten Istela Nunes last May.

The 35-year-old Yamaguchi is the only woman to go the distance with Lee in their thrilling encounter in a May 2016 showdown. Following that defeat, the former Valkyrie champion dropped a unanimous decision to the aforementioned Nunes before bouncing back with wins over Jenny Huang and Gina Iniong in 2017.
