Conor McGregor ‘Happy’ That Floyd Mayweather is ‘Out of These Fight Negotiations’
Conor McGregor took another jab at Floyd Mayweather on Sunday, claiming that he was “happy” that the retired boxer has no longer in negotiations for a fight against him.

The Irishman could be responding to Mayweather’s remark to MMAjunkie.com’s Mike Bohn while in attendance during the NBA’s All-Star Weekend indicating that he would not be facing McGregor in an MMA bout. In recent weeks, “Money” had teased a transition to the cage, and UFC President Dana White claimed there were talks with the undefeated boxer.
Just saw @FloydMayweather as I was walking backstage and asked him if he's serious about a rematch with @TheNotoriousMMA in MMA: "I already fought Conor, and we're at a basketball game, not an MMA match."

Mayweather defeated McGregor via 10th-round technical knockout in a boxing match at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Aug. 26. After the victory, Mayweather, who turns 41 on Feb. 24, announced his retirement.
“My game is a very unforgiving one,” McGregor wrote. “It is not like other games. I understand completely him staying retired. I will now carry on in my negotiations and see where it goes.”
McGregor has not competed in MMA since winning the lightweight crown against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in November 2016. Coming to terms with the Las Vegas-based promotion in a timely fashion could potentially prevent “The Notorious” one from being stripped of his belt. At the moment, Tony Ferguson is scheduled to defend the interim championship against Khabib Nurmagomedov in the UFC 223 main event, but the promotion has been vague regarding the status of the 155-pound belt.
