The Singapore-based organization recently announced the booking. The event, which marks the promotion’s first visit to the city, takes place at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center.

“China is one of our biggest markets, and the focus has been to really bring the rich cultural history of martial arts in China to the forefront,” said One Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong in a release. “It is a delight to finally announce our inaugural event in the beautiful city of Shanghai. We are coming at you live and ready to showcase the world’s most authentic display of martial arts.”

The 33-year-old Askren is unbeaten in 17 professional appearances, including five bouts under the One Championship banner. The former Bellator 170-pound champion last appeared at One “Dynasty of Heroes,” where he submitted Agilan Thani with an arm-triangle choke in the opening frame.

A native of Sweden, Kadestam earned a title shot by knocking out Luis Santos in his first promotional appearance on May 26. The Legacy Gym representative owns a 9-3 career mark, with seven of his triumphs coming via knockout or technical knockout.
