UFC 216 Bolstered with Several Bouts

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that seven bouts have been tacked onto the UFC 216 lineup. The most notable addition to the card is a lightweight showdown between Evan Dunham and Beneil Dariush.

Dunham, who has won his last four bouts, is on the verge of cracking into title contention with a win. The Xtreme Couture product has toppled Rick Glenn and Joe Lauzon in his last two outings, to cap off the grappling savant's best winning streak in nearly a decade. Dariush, meanwhile, is aiming to rebound from a knockout loss to Edson Barboza at UFC Fight Night 106.

Brad Tavares will lock horns with former title challenger Thales Leites in a middleweight showdown as well.

The promotion also revealed that heavyweights Walt Harris and Mark Godbeer will collide; Lando Vannata will take on fellow light heavyweight Abel Trujillo; John Moraga will oppose Magomed Bibulatov at flyweight; and Matt Schnell against Marco Beltran, also at flyweight. These bouts will sync with the previously-announced lightweight battle between Will Brooks and Nik Lentz.

UFC 216 will take place Oct. 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card will be broadcast live on pay-per-view following the preliminary cards on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
