St. Preux and Rua initially squared off at UFC Fight Night 56 in Nov. 2014, with St. Pruex winning via knockout 34 seconds into the opening stanza of their headlining encounter. “OSP” has been up and down since then, as he has compiled a 3-4 mark in the Octagon since that first clash against “Shogun.” The former University of Tennessee football player snapped a three-fight losing streak with a second-round submission of Marcos Rogerio de Lima in his most recent outing at UFC Fight Night 108.
Rua has competed infrequently since falling to St. Preux but will enter the matchup on a three-fight winning streak. During his mini-resurgence, the 35-year-old Brazilian has posted triumphs over Gian Villante, Corey Anderson and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
