Donald Cerrone has confirmed his withdrawal from a UFC 213 clash against Robbie Lawler along with details regarding what led to his exit from the welterweight bout.

“Let everyone know this is not an injury, but a super bad infection in my blood,” Cerrone wrote on Instagram. “[Seven] days of IV and I’ll be back at it. Working on getting the fight rescheduled.”

While nothing is official, Cerrone vs. Lawler is rumored to land at UFC 214, which takes place on July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. That card is headlined by a light heavyweight championship rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones. Whenever Cerrone vs. Lawler happens, it will mark the third time the fight has been scheduled after previous bookings at UFC 205 and UFC 213 fell through.

Cerrone vs. Lawler was set to occupy the pay-per-view main card at UFC 213. It is currently unclear which bout would replace the highly-anticipated 170-pound matchup. UFC 213 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 8 and is topped by a women’s bantamweight championship tilt between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko.
