Surging Mexican flyweight prospect Brandon Moreno will take on emerging contender Sergio Pettis in the main event of UFC Fight Night 114, scheduled for Aug. 5 in Mexico City, Mexico. The UFC's Spanish portal officially announced the booking on Sunday.

The event takes place at the Mexico City Arena, also known as Arena Ciudad, and its main card is expected to air live on Fox Sports 1, with the undercard on UFC Fight Pass. The card is the fourth UFC event at the Mexico City Arena and the fifth in the country overall.

The 23-year-old Moreno has been a revelation over the last eight months in the Octagon. The 16th and last overall seed on “The Ultimate Fighter 24,” the Tijuana native was choked out by top seed Alexandre Pantoja in the opening round of the reality show. “The Assassin Baby” then made his UFC debut last October, stepping in on short notice to face Louis Smolka and choking the Hawaiian out in upset fashion.

Moreno has now won 11 straight pro bouts, including three in the UFC. He earned a split decision over Ryan Benoit in December at the finale of “The Ultimate Fighter 24,” then choked out Dustin Ortiz this past April.

Pettis, also 23, made his return to 125 pounds in March 2015 and suffered an upset knockout loss to the aforementioned Ryan Benoit. Since the Benoit setback at UFC 185, “The Phenom” has won three straight unanimous verdicts over Chris Cariaso, Chris Kelades and John Moraga. Pettis was scheduled to face Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo at UFC 211 on May 13, but Cejudo pulled out during fight week due to medical issues related to his weight cut.
