According to cable television ratings released Monday by Nielsen, the Spike broadcast of Bellator 171 drew an average audience of 720,000, as well as a 0.24 share in the 18-49 male and female demographics.

Bellator 171, live from the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kan., was headlined by Chidi Njokuani's three-round blowout of Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Melvin Guillard. A week ago, Bellator 170 in Inglewood, Calif., averaged 1.4 million viewers and peaked with over 2.2 million with DVR +3 ratings for the main event between victorious Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen.

Bellator 139 and 150, both Spike-televised events that ran on cable television following major Bellator tentpole events, drew 733,000 and 764,000 average viewers respectively, keeping in line with the company's Spike events following its most promoted offerings.
