A middleweight showdown between Michael Bisping and Cung Le will serve as the main event for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s return to Macau, China, on Aug. 23.

UFC President Dana White announced the matchup at the UFC 173 press conference on Saturday night. UFC Fight Night “Bisping vs. Le” takes place at Cotai Arena and will also include a welterweight clash between Hector Lombard and Dong Hyun Kim. The card will air in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass.

After being sidelined for nearly a year due to a detached retina, Bisping returned to the Octagon on April 16, dropping a unanimous decision to Tim Kennedy at “The Ultimate Fighter Nations” finale. “The Count” owns notable triumphs over Alan Belcher, Brian Stann, Jason Miller, Yoshihiro Akiyama and Chris Leben during his 20-bout UFC tenure.

Le has not competed since Nov. 10, 2012, when he scored a first-round knockout of Rich Franklin at UFC on Fuel TV 6 in Macau. Since then, the sanshou specialist has been largely absent from the MMA scene outside of an appearance as a coach on “TUF: China.” A former Strikeforce champion, the 42-year-old Le debuted in the Octagon with a TKO loss to Wanderlei Silva at UFC 139 before notching back-to-back triumphs over Patrick Cote and Franklin in his next two outings.
