UFC middleweight contender Lyoto Machida was handed a 180-day suspension by the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) following his UFC Fight Night 36 victory over Gegard Mousasi, who received a 30-day suspension in defeat.
Machida may return to action earlier if he receives X-ray clearance on his left foot, which “The Dragon” injured in his five-round bout with former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Mousasi. According to a report from MMAFighting.com, Machida has already undergone an X-ray, which indicated that his foot was not broken.
